Once
a young man was eager to understand the reality of Gods goodness and might. He
went to church one day and during the sermon, the minister started talking
about how we can surmount every evil and earthly powers through the
power of God in the scriptures. Many bible verses were quoted but the ones that
touched the young man most were Isaiah 43:1 and 2 ("Do not fear, for I
have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When
you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the
rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will
not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze"), Psalm 23:4 (even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall not fear...),
Luke 10:19 (I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and
to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you), also
remembering Daniels ordeal in the Lions den (Daniel 6:16-24) and
many others. After the service, he went home filled with strength and
assumingly great faith and trust in God. During the night he decided to
practice his faith. He went in for a three days fasting and prayer with some
other bible verses.
Now this young man lived some miles not far
away from the zoo. he is one the zoo keeper. during his three
days fasting and prayer, he also let the animals fast with him among
whom were some wild tigers. After his fasting and prayers, he fortified himself
with some strong and faith lifting bible verses like those above then went
to work. At work he then tried his faith. He went into the
hungry Lion's cage, bearing in mind some scriptural verses,
especially Lk.10:19, but before he could say Go...(God) what remained
was his bones.
God still cares for us but we should not put God to test!
